Handover notes

Please use this page to write up any notes on anything that needs to be passed on to the next observer or should go into the end of experiment message.

Notes should be placed below the horizontal line as a new blog entry.

Continuing problems should be copied to the Current Issues page.

**Template for Handover notes:**

Be sure to add any specific notes about the experiment if required, for example “Special back end configuration for x reason”. Put as much detail as you can - the more the better.

It is ESSENTIAL to put your name after EVERY entry. Copy and paste the template into the new handover notes

For Example:

20:00UT: Wind stows, Missed scans 012-3456 to 012-3457 (Jim)

20:50UT: Mark5 lost connection, had to restart Mark5 and reconfigure DBBC, called Jamie on call to fix, missed scans 012-3456 to 012-4567 (Jim)

Again - as much detail as you can. It is important to remember that these notes will be sent to the correlator, so please make sure they make sense to others.

APSG42

apsg42 schedule wasn't on ivs server. Needed to go to ftp://ivs.bkg.bund.de/pub/vlbi/ivsdata/aux/apsg42/apsg42.skd and download/copy-paste it into a new document.

  • 17:30UT Experiment started okay (Lucas)
  • 22:00UT Noticed Field system time is 0.5 seconds off mk5 time. Once again didn't want to reset DBBC and introduce clock jump (Lucas).
  • No autocorrelations, I think because I manually drudged the proc file for Hobart26m. Could “hack” the proc file with that from the previous apsg containing Hobart26m (Lucas).
    • Copied a previous checkmk5 from a aua039 proc file. checkmk5 seems to work now(?, Lucas).
  • 23:26UT Last BBC in S band looks pretty dodgy. Monitoring (Lucas).
  • 11:00UT The 70K stage temperature sometimes goes above 65K for a little while, bu then settles back down below 65K.(Katie)
  • 14:48UT 'formatter to fs time difference 0.5 seconds or greater' error, fixed with 'sy=run setcl offset' as suggested in wiki, while not recording. (Patrick)
  • 17:00UT The above error started to reoccur at the start of some scans (Patrick)
