Handover notes

Please use this page to write up any notes on anything that needs to be passed on to the next observer or should go into the end of experiment message.

Notes should be placed below the horizontal line as a new blog entry.

Continuing problems should be copied to the Current Issues page.

**Template for Handover notes:**

Be sure to add any specific notes about the experiment if required, for example “Special back end configuration for x reason”. Put as much detail as you can - the more the better.

It is ESSENTIAL to put your name after EVERY entry. Copy and paste the template into the new handover notes

  • 0600UT Getting persistent errors “previous source in schedule not reached”, as well as some warnings “time window exceeded 0.25 seconds …”, and messages in fs saying antenna stuck/antenna moving repeatedly. Warren says there is no easy fix as the antenna is playing up. Only thing we can do is check that the azimuth and elevation coordinates are regularly moving to new sources on timeyg. (Eloise)

Hobart 26

  • 1800UT S/X receiver is not on axis. The focus is stuck. Hobart26 will join the OHG142 once the S/X receiver is on axis.

  • 1830UT Experiment started okay (Lim).
  • 0610UT Alarm: Large difference between formatter and maser delays. Check for stability of new offset. Checked new offsets and the alarm showed up again. Reconfigured the dbbc3hb. Affected scans: 083-0609 to 083-0710a (Simin).
  • 0815UT Alarm: Large difference between formatter and maser delays. Check for stability of new offset. Happened again after the reconfiguration of the dbbc3hb. Jamie had a look at it. It seems serious and linked to the maser (Maser pps/ 10 MHz is drifting). Nothing can be done so the schedule halted and terminate (Simin)
